Are you employed? Expect to hear these 2 important devastating words in the future :
Do you run a business? Behold the Future of efficient productivity is in our hands , In Bill Gates first rule of technology used in business he says :
''Automation applied to an efficient operation will magnify the efficiency.''
With Mans desire to make a world a better place, which is the greatest pursuit to happiness to him, I see the past world left with similar fate of that of the dinosaurs, Good, bad or indifferent, if you do not invest in new technology, you are going to be left behind extinct with the past world.
Bennet a friend of mine I recently met was interested in one of my offers, I suggested he venture with me on investing a product my friend from China invented a tyre recycling machine however Bennet's mindset is well versed in the industry maybe thats why it didn't take time for him to work with me on making the project come alive.
Monday 4.am we had a great email exchange as he taught me more on the field and the future of man, technology and A.I.
I enjoyed the links he shared with me afterwards to carry out a research which has led me to write an article on the matter.
With man clouded by the mission of making the world a better place ,he sees non-of the past invetions to be the end result, but a step closer to simplifying life further which has led us to this point.
Robots are favoured to take half of all jobs in the next decade according to a leading technology company founder in China. He sees Artificial intelligence to be the wave of the future, the influential tech master has called it the :
" only thing that will be bigger than all of human tech revolutions combined together which are electricity, industry revolution, internet and mobile internet ''
asked why he said because :
'' Artificial intelligence is pervasive"
With scientist, innovators, business men, technologists working on 10 year goals of innovation introductions they believe for life and the world to be a better place they need to introduce inventions that are superhuman in every industry, this includes replacing half of human jobs, which inturn produces a huge amount of wealth for mankind and wipes out poverty
Viva technology Viva , Viva!!! I do support this great initiative but yet again one mans salvation is another mans frustation with technology been a food to me and the few aware, it turns to be poison to the majority still stuck in the 1st machine age the Industry Revolution.
Where the machine age was basically about enlarging our muscle power. Where for fast movement in labour was to add more men, fast production was to add more men, fast serving was to add more men, fast communicating, delivering was to simply add more men, more postmen, more labour men, more typist, more package guys more more more.
Suddenly enough was enough it was time for the introduction of the new age :
'' The Second Machine Age ''
The current stage is that of the initial stages of a parallel acceleration and amplification of our cognitive abilities. This is why in human history the East and west rule, the past industry age is in mockery of the current revolution, everything that had come before like:
'' War, the powder guns in western, war with spears in Africa replaced by jets and machine guns, Empires like Rome to great infrastractures like Dubai , The once Great Zimbabwe to Great buildings like Rbz and everything else.''
'' The fancy typist with fast skills and glasses erased by voice typing, the postmen all left jobless with email, internet, whatsapp, instant text messaging guilty of the jobless persons.''
The titanic changes have had a great effect on human living standards and in many paths we can invest in the future by learning how things have changed from the first Industry Revolution and the first machine age but as the old saying goes :
'' You cant teach an old dog new tricks ''
The are some key differences to this activity. Where we look for advice, we should not seek to a person leaving and still having the 1st industry age telling your son to go to school and to acquire good grades and become a lawyer is total witchcraft we already have many of them for crying out loud!!!
Investing on learning about the future what opportunities lie ahead and what skills they require with evolution taking place we see the working of Google's driverless cars a big part of the big data revolution, information moving from disks .flash, memory cards to icloud , spreadsheets ,accounting ,data setting and calculating ready to wipe out the accountant with aggression makes the legging behind individuals left exposed to the dangers of the future though it may seem not about to attack you yet remember how a man goes broke :
'' It's gradually...and then suddenly ''
Today phones talk to us without the other person on the other line through voicemail we can leave a message and get response afterwards, I tell you the late Alexander Graham Bell would be shocked if he were to come alive nevertheless the exponential part of his innovation and fellow companions in innovation has to do with the fact that their Laws have been going on long enough adding a difference in degree which has
become a difference in this kind, our works today will be the upgrades of the future aswell.
I expect the the current revolution in the internet & entrepreneurial sectors to continue growing and in various situations displace or even wipe out traditional companies all over the world.
Whats seemly happening now in the current machine age is that we have a bigger pie but also more focus of wealth. Technology wont make everyone's life better, some people appear to be worse off in their titles such as teachers, doctors, lawyers, supervisors and the employment sector as people who want to offer their labor to an employer or to the economy.
The fact will however remain intact :
''The pie will continue to grow''
Its really important it does, because in our roles as citizens or consumers, technological progress
is fantastic news.
Even as the music industry has become small we are all listening to more music. The rich can not buy the internet than anyone else can buy.
You may not be worried about machines becoming self-aware and rising up against you, but you will find yourselves more concerned about how in your roles as workers, things are really getting challenging for a lot of people. Wages cut down, the old not retiring anytime soon ,less people needed due to computers and many.
The future of robots is inevitable many will face many bad outcomes, where the well positioned will have some really good outcomes.
It's all going to depend on how you respond. The future tech, robots, A.I is only going to accelerate. If we react correctly, then its going to be good though Its not going to happen like switching on a light like click its on.
When we discuss, write ,research about technology and jobs, some economists and definitely lots of voices on the more conservative side of the political spectrum, will argue that any job that gets lost in one sector of the economy will be more than compensated for by new job creation in other sectors.
But that fact seems to breaking down. Those analyst who say that actually look back at the historical patterns and get a great deal of confidence from it as they should. The historical pattern is one of a
succession of pretty smart people saying large-scale technological unemployment is right around the corner.
What the analyst get wrong is that while technological progress does grow the pie, there is no economic law that says that growth is going to float the 2 boats the same way equally. Whether or not the jobs will be there going forward but less.In the past they always have been, but no proof that its automatic.
Technology has evidently been destroying jobs, and it's always been creating jobs, just that the old dogs cant be taught the new tricks simple.
Policy makers right now should figure out a way to address that and put an obssessed focus on it, because technology shows signs of going even bigger in the impact going forward.
Can we ignore it ? ... No!!! but act on as said earlier entrepreneurship, tax policy and education. These things need to be reinvented and rethought. Of great importance we need to reinvent education, just like the other sectors like publishing and media, manufacturing and retailing and finance and just about every other industry that has been reinvented.
We need to rethink the systems of having people sit in rows and learn how to follow instructions;
We should be fostering creativity, because the type of skills are exactly what's being automated.
On tax, instead of punishing companies and businessmen like me hiring workers, we should be rewarded. Its why I would prefer a robot anyway.
Robots, ios, android and AIs are not about to take all of your jobs in the next month or the next year. The movement while astonishing, is just not that fast but will just happen.
So the right thing to do today is to get your LifeAfterpast@BusinesswithTat ebook for stimulating economic growth:
infrastructure and basic research.
Its a basic prescription of how you can drive your growth regardless of the external circumstances.Good times or bad, it's what most economy analyst would advocate.
But you create a very strong case in your book thats current :
“ movements in technology are driving a never known to have happened before reallocation of wealth and income.”
Economy laws haven't changed. We are just in a different part of the technological stage than we have been in the past but Tax principles like :
'' If you tax something then you're going to get less of it and if you don't tax you get more of it'' are still true.
If Zimbabwe or any country upgrades its infrastructure, the civil engineering society would give its country a decent grade, instead of sitting at home, it would set tables for much better business climates in the countries.
Robots can not build or repair bridges or buildings yet, so as my previous article investing on infrastructure would result in jobs.
I'm sure Zimbabwe and every other country can let these incredibly skilled, talented people that want to desperately build our nations carry out the duty. We know investing in infrastracuture can create jobs. The current unemployement rate in this world can only be carried by the entrepreneurship vehicle, if we make the climate for starting a new business more favourable we know the job growth would come.
As tech continues to sprint ahead. If that's anywhere near correct, the above gives us time to think about what to do, if we really are heading into this Will Smith Irobot future down the road which I and others think that we are and hoping to reach.
I believe that technology is a driver of change, but it doesn't mean that there is nothing we can do to shape our future. I think that entrepreneurship and its education aswell as education of the the future world can all help in increasing both the bounty and decreasing the spread that's our grand challenge.
At a certain degree I love my Presidents principles , for he sees the future, a future were its citizens must invest in businesses and self employment opportunities not only my country but countries all over the world that are winners in the near technological revolution we are entering will be able to help their citizens prepare themselves to take advantage of the new technologies. Where as to Countries that try to protect or promote jobs or certain groups will find themselves falling behind.
Especially in academic education, where we still use an 18th-century education model designed to produce factory workers for the
British industrialists, putting student into rows and columns and expecting them to learn facts that will somehow help them cope with a technological revolution is the current greatest mistake ever thats why I choose to live the ''American Dream'' in Africa ,you decide yours.
I would rather favour the billionaire as I need this mindset to become one and I am a testimony that innovation really brings good news. Innovation has and will continue to create wealth. People sell ,advertise, pay, communicate miles away instantly without limit via the internet.
The key economic fact is that technology makes the pie bigger, it makes the economy richer, but it doesn't necessarily help everybody for people are arrogant they dont want to learn they would rather crack at a joke on social media and use social media for useless means rather learn the income benefits, in fact some people, even the majority of people, can be made worse off, even if the pie grows bigger different from what prevailed in the past years, with the initial machine age.
I should rest my case in saying the world is created by those with the money they talk with their paper aslong as they continue investing in technolgy. The world coming holds a bright future where technology is our servant and frees us of the mundane drudgery of needing to work hard to survive. The transition we are engaged in is likely to be volatile, no matter what your religion..
One of the joys of the entreprenuars life and I hope of yours, is that you and me get to live through it and mostly take advantage of it
Have a fabulous week & remember that robots are coming after your job, They need jobs too.
